What's its role ?

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) is a private nonprofit organization that was created in 1984. Its main mission is to help the country on issues of missing and sexually exploited children. The center provides information for law enforcement and helps parents, children, including child victims, and other professionals. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children was born on June the 13th, 1984 and was opened by the President Ronald Reagan at a White House ceremony. It appears in response to numerous murders of children who were never punished because the culprit was never found.
